The Ballet Arts Academy is a dance instruction provider located in Spokane, Washington and serving the greater Spokane region. The Academy's philosophy is to teach excellence and discipline, to inspire, and to educate and enrich the lives of its students through the training and performance of classical and modern ballet. Artistic Director Mimi Ewers was born and raised in Honduras before moving to Spokane in 2002. She was awarded scholarships to train at the Ballet Concerto of Miami and was a guest dancer at the National Ballet Company in Honduras. In 2012, Mimi was invited to dance with the Spokane Symphony and later became the Director of the Ballet Arts Academy with Jefferson Baum as her Associate Director. Her students have danced in ballets across the nation and have gone on to dance professionally for companies such as Ballet West, Pittsburgh Ballet, Sarasota Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Ballet Nebraska, and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
