Providing housing and opportunities for growth, the center has two apartment buildings and 13 private homes that can host almost 200 individuals. A team of experienced peer support specialists, counselors, and instructors address physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of addiction to guide individuals toward sobriety. Healing House also has a facility for recovering expectant mothers.
Midwest Health Center is a treatment facility helping clients with drug addiction in Independence and the surrounding communities. Using a medication-assisted treatment program, this rehab center assists clients in recovering from dependency on opiates, including fentanyl, heroin, and pain medications, such as morphine, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, and oxycodone. With buprenorphine as the cornerstone of treatment, its services gravitate toward confidential, personalized, and non-judgmental care for its patients. It is currently not accepting insurance for office services.

Its 20-bed medical detox residential in Kansas City, which works with private insurance companies, helps patients move in and extends treatment to the recovery phase. Its founding member and CEO, Jeff Howard, is a licensed practical nurse that has been in the recovery industry since the 1990s.
New Vision at Cass Regional Medical Center is a hospital-based substance abuse treatment and detox facility serving the Independence metro. It treats adults with acute and life-threatening withdrawal symptoms from alcohol and drugs, such as benzodiazepines, opioids, and cocaine. Its medically supervised inpatient stay involves pre-screening, assessment, admission, medical stabilization, and discharge planning. New Vision is operated by SpecialCare Hospital Management, a company of BayMark Health Services. Since 1992, SpecialCare has focused on withdrawal symptom management and has helped over 400,000 individuals.
The Crossroads Program is a drug and alcohol rehab facility serving families and individuals in Independence. Its treatment plans are designed to address substance abuse in adolescents and young adults. The team offers an intensive outpatient program that teaches patients the resolve and attitude needed to remain sober in their daily lives. After completing the IOP, each client receives an eight-week aftercare session. Additional services provided include individual counseling and speaking engagements. The Crossroads Program started in 1982 as Palmer Drug Abuse Program.
Wayne D. White Recovery Community Center is a facility that serves individuals and families from the Independence metro and the surrounding areas. It offers outpatient treatment programs for individuals with substance or drug abuse issues. Through its certified peer specialists and counselors, clients are provided with rehabilitation plans and programs such as recovery classes, therapy groups, and individual counseling. The center has been helping people in recovery, as well as homeless veterans, since 2001.
