Individuals in Little Rock have a two-year deadline beginning on the date of the negligent act to file for a medical malpractice claim. On the other hand, those with a foreign object left in their body can file a medical malpractice claim within one year of the discovery date. Additionally, if the patient is a child aged nine and below, they must bring a medical malpractice claim when they turn 11 or two years from the negligent action.
Under Arkansas Code 16-114-208, the damages in a medical malpractice case depend on the cost of medical services, which covers rehabilitation, surgery, and prescription fees.
